Biblical Studies, Microbiology, and a Movie Star!
As a trained scientist, used to writing peer-reviewed articles, and a Bible-believer since I was 18 years old, it is rather inevitable that I also write books that are not truth written like fiction, but just plain, old, true. These are some of them. To see my scientific books, chapters, and articles, scroll to the very bottom of the My Story page.

Tricky Questions. Thoughtful Answers.
God’s Word, for Real was published on November 18, 2025. Because it is based on blog articles, there was no fanfare to announce its arrival: no launch party, no preorders, not really even any publicity. Nonetheless, within a day, it was being considered for use by a local youth group. The aim of this 80-page guide, primarily aimed at teens, is to provide thoughtful answers to tricky questions. If you’ve ever wondered whether the Bible we have today resembles what was initially written, whether the disciples were deluded, or whether miracles really happen, this booklet is for you.
Gross Stuff You Can Do at Home
Did you ever wonder which is the germiest: your toilet or your doorknob? Your yogurt or your sink? Your floor or your water bottle? With this amazing manual, you can find out! Microbiology Experiments You Can Do at Home was published in 2020. It was originally written as a supplement to the online lab exercises that formed part of the college-level Introduction to Microbiology course during COVID lockdowns. However, it is suitable for use with any introductory college-level course where students must work at home. However, with adult supervision, home-schooled high school and even junior high school students can easily complete the experiments.
A Concise Guide to Cultivating
a Disciple-Making Church
Growing the Church 101: Being Disciples Who Make Disciples was published in 2017, following my participation in a seminar led by Bishop Keith Andrews. He told me it was his goal for the entire diocese to take on board what he was teaching, and I offered to write a manual to assist him in those efforts. This Bible study book was the result. Recommended by former Archbishop Foley Beach, the Rt Rev Todd Hunter, and Canon David Rosebury, it is “an excellent resource …for a congregation to look in the mirror and respond to what they see.”
From Biology Prof to Movie Star
Free to Think: Why Scientific Integrity Matters was published in 2010 and, since the publisher became ill, is now out of print. It may be possible to purchase second-hand copies. Alternatively, if you email me or come to one of my events, you can get a copy from me. The book was first written to correct online misinformation about the termination of my employment at GMU after I was falsely accused of teaching creationism. It ends with the story of my foray into being a movie star and appearing in Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, which starred Ben Stein. If you are primarily interested in reading about my hilarious teaching experiences, follow my blog. If you want to better understand Intelligent Design, I recommend reading books by Steven Meyer.
God’s Word for Real focuses on a myriad of key issues and brings them together rather neatly for someone who is questioning the veracity and reliability of the written Word.
Dr. Crocker is clear, concise, and loads her talks [and books] with fascinating examples.
