The ‘Reluctant Immigrant’ Series
For Middle Grade readers (9-12)
These heartwarming and entertaining chapter books will be set in the late 1960s. They are about the eldest daughter of Dutch immigrants to Canada, whose family then moved to the United States, specifically, Iowa. That made her, through no fault of her own, a reluctant immigrant. Children between 9 and 12 will giggle at her antics while learning about life in a prior time, the challenges of being an immigrant, and the importance of friendship.
