The ‘My Everyday’ Books
Chapter Books About the Immigrant Experience
These heartwarming and entertaining chapter books are set in the 1960s. They are about Ireentje (pronounced Ee rain chuh), the eldest daughter of Dutch immigrants to Canada. Children between 5 and 10 will giggle at her antics while painlessly learning about family love, obedience, courage, truthfulness, kindness, and responsibility.
They’ll also learn about marbles, wolves, babies, batons, kittens, birds, chipmunks, and bears. Why? You’ll have to read the books to find out!
