Speaker at the Virginia Writers Club Symposium

August 2 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

History With Heart:

Writing Compelling Creative Nonfiction

Dr. Caroline Crocker will lead a workshop at this premier writers’ conference. Come and learn from her and others!

As the child of WWII survivors, Dr. Crocker finds delving into the real lives of those who lived through the war fascinating. Between historical research, looking up ancestors, working out the characters’ emotions, and even “showing instead of telling,” there’s plenty to keep an author busy—and motivated. Workshop participants who enjoy history will come away with a solid plan for how to start writing their historical narrative nonfiction novel. Those who have already begun will doubtless gain many ideas for improving their book.
